The cover design was conceptualized to bring in all the important characteristics of the book.

  • The silhouette of the face of a woman with a scar which runs from her forehead to the chin has major significance in the making of the character Janwi.
  • The strands of hair represented by vines of herbs with flowers flowing from the head of the silhouette represents her knowledge in herbology. The maze formed by plants and flowers in the head represent her memory she has inherited from her ancestors.
  • There is a pyramid engraved into her face.The scar forming the crack in the pyramid.This is the idol that the tribal community, Banivas in the story worship and again has the vine running from the crack on to the sides of the pyramid.
  • The nose stud is a favorite ornament of the author.
  • The background is that of the Himalayas.That is where the story takes a twist and there is a metamorphosis in the life of the protagonist from a home maker to a world famous healer.
